      Alexa Still

      Faculty: Alexa Still Musical Instrument: Flute
    • A. Still classe

      Alexa Still is known for her distinctive performances and a rich discography. Originally from New Zealand, Alexa won competitions including the New York Flute Club Young Artist Competition and the East and West Artists Competition while doing graduate studies. At age 23, while completing a DMA at SUNY Stony Brook, she won the position of Principal Flute of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. Further honors include the Churchill Fellowship and a Fulbright award, which encouraged a focus on pedagogy. Alexa eventually joined the Oberlin Conservatory in 2011 where she received the award for teaching excellence and the NEA professorship.

      During your stay at Orford Music, you will create unforgettable memories while evolving into the artist you aspire to be. Orford Music’s master classes are unique opportunities to work on your goals with the mentors of your choice.

      The master classes include the following:

      • Master classes, individual lessons or technical courses lasting 2.5 hours per week
      • Opportunity to perform in student concerts
      • Access to a collaborative pianist
      • Networking activities with faculty members and the student community
      • Accommodation in double occupancy and three meals per day.
      • Practice studios equipped with pianos (available from 7AM to 12AM)
      • Housekeeping, laundry facilities, parking, and free Wi-Fi
      • Free tickets for concerts at Salle Gilles-Lefebvre (subject to availability)
      • Opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes of Parc national du Mont-Orford, the majestic Lake Memphremagog, and the tourist activities of the city of Magog
      • Rehearsal studios equipped with pianos (available from 6AM to 11PM)
