Claire Ouellet is pursuing a brilliant career as a pianist in Canada and abroad. Her great sensitivity and musicality along with her sincere interpretations make her a highly sought-after partner and collaborator. She regularly performs in festivals and concert series such as the Festival international de Lanaudière, the Montreal Chamber Music Festival, the Orford Music Festival, Domaine Forget, Pro Musica, Parry Sound, Toronto’s Ladies Morning Musical Club, the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society, and the OSM’s Virée Classique, among others. Many of her performances have been broadcast across the country on Radio-Canada.
She has performed as a soloist with several orchestras in Canada, including the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, and has also been invited to play with the Granada Symphony Orchestra in Spain. She has also given recitals in France, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Mexico, to name but a few. As a member of the Ouellet-Murray piano duo, Claire Ouellet has recorded two critically acclaimed albums. The duo has performed across the country on a tour for JM Canada. She is also a member of the Orford Six Pianos ensemble, with which she has performed on Quebec’s main stages and recorded two albums.
She is the recipient of numerous awards and is a graduate of the Conservatoire de musique du Québec, where she finished her studies with a brilliant Premier Prix. She also holds a doctorate in solo performance from the Université de Montréal and studied for three years in Paris with grants from the French government and the Ministère des Affaires culturelles du Québec. She has also been a professor at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal for several years.
