Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci was also a set designer? Not always by choice, mind you… When he first arrives in Milan in 1482, his first contract is to set the stage – literally – for a grand celebration honouring the powerful Sforza family. What an opportunity to showcase his many talents ! Is this Da Vinci’s big chance to fulfill his grand ambitions?
Join us for this new and entertaining tale from youth fiction writer Mathieu Boutin. Pascale Montpetit appears as Da Vinci on the brink of a nervous breakdown, trying to explain his vision to the medieval artists hired to help him prepare for the celebration. Thank heavens for musicians ! The Lys naissants, directed by Jean-Loup Gagnon, are there to interpret Da Vinci’s vision for our benefit, through the works of Praetorius, Purcell, Graupner and Philip Glass.
