These three exceptional performers will create a rich musical presentation! During the “Trio for piano, violin, and cello, Op. 50” by Granados, the elegance of the melodic lines will blend with profound intimacy. From the same composer, “Andaluza” from the 12 Spanish Dances will reveal the playful and colorful aspect of Spanish music, with energetic rhythms and catchy folkloric motifs. Finally, the “Allegro de concierto, Op. 46”, will highlight the virtuosity of the performers, with its brilliant and dynamic passages, evoking the brilliance of Granados’ music. Anne Robert
Violinist Anne Robert is celebrated for her “sensibility, warm sound, dexterity, and elegant phrasing,” as noted by The Strad Magazine in London. She maintains a vibrant career as a chamber musician and regularly performs in Canada, Europe, and Asia.Anne Robert held the position of first violinist with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal for a span of twelve years, demonstrating her exceptional orchestral talents. Additionally, she is a member of the Trio Hochelaga, a chamber ensemble she co-founded in 2000. The trio has graced stages worldwide, presenting over 500 concerts, and notably, in 2003, they had the privilege of premiering the Triple Concerto composed by Canadian musician Jacques Hétu. This remarkable performance was accompanied by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal.
Brian Manker
Principal Cello of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal since 1999, Brian Manker enjoys a diverse and varied musical career as a performer and a teacher. In addition to being a frequent concerto soloist with the OSM, Mr. Manker is also a member of the Juno and Opus award winning New Orford String Quartet. Currently a faculty member of McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, Mr. Manker launched the Beethoven Project and founded the Adorno Quartet in 2007, the purpose of which is to perform all of Beethoven’s quartets in their proper context: the private salon. In 2010, he recorded the complete Bach Cello Suites.Evelyne Brancart
Evelyne Brancart is presently a Professor of Music (Piano) at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington and served as the Chair of the Piano Department from August 2001 to January 2011. Her previous teaching positions include the University of Miami in Florida, the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, Rice University in Houston, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and the Aspen Summer Music School, where she established a seminar dedicated to Chopin and Liszt Etudes.
