Taurey Butler
Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Taurey Butler began studying piano at the age of 7. However, he didn’t find is his passion for jazz until his senior year in high school when his band director handed him a solo piano recording of Oscar Peterson. Once he listened to the recording he knew jazz would be in his life forever. After graduating Dartmouth College with a B.A., B.E. in Electrical Engineering he decided to pursue his music career and began working at the legendary Cotton Club in New York City. Since then Taurey has performed all over the world in different venues and festivals. Some of which include The Blue Note NYC, the Detroit Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the JVC Jazz Festival.
Morgan Moore
A Juno Award-winning musician and producer, Morgan Moore is currently touring and recording with The Barr Brothers, Triplettes de Belleville, James Gelfand, as well as many other notable bands and musicians, taking him to every corner of the world (Europe, Asia, South Pacific, Middle East and USA). He has performed on “Late Show” with David Letterman, CBS’s “This Morning” and countless live radio spots including a regular voice gig on CBC Radio-Canada’s, “C’est le Plus Beau Jour de ma Vie” with Marc Labrèche and Anne Dorval. He broke the ice in his acting career by landing a role in United States vs. Billie Holiday; a Lee Daniels film in which Morgan learned how to act and improvise on camera during 2 months of shooting scenes with Trevante Rhodes, Andra Day, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, James Tyler Williams, Miss Lawrence and others.
Wali Muhammad
Originally from Benton Harbor, Michigan, Wali Muhammad grew up playing R&B, Blues,Jazz and Gospel. He attended Boston’s renowned Berklee College of Music, thus perfecting his skills as a drummer, composer and arranger. While in Boston, Wali performed in various show, cover and Jazz bands led by college stars Kevin Eubanks, Branford Marsalis, Victor Bailey and Greg Osby. After earning his Bachelor of music degree from Berklee, Mr. Muhammad moved to Montreal, Canada. He played with Jazz pioneer/bassist Charlie Biddle at Biddle’s Jazz for fifteen years. He has played with Shawn Loescher in prestigious venues such as The Knitting Factory, Velvet Lounge and Catalina. He has performed at the Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Quebec City’s Jazz festivals. He has had the opportunity to perform original Haitian music, dance oriented Armenian music and Mauritius African music, allowing him to expand his musical horizons. Over the next few years, Mr. Muhammad has recorded with some of Canada’s most accomplished musicians. Wali has recorded with Oliver Jones for Yuletide Swinging and Juno recipient The Montreal Jubilation Gospel Choir for Joy To The World. He has played on four of Jeri Brown’s renowned recordings: Firm Roots, I’ve Got Your Number, Fresh Start and Unfolding the Peacocks. In 2005 and 2006 he has recorded Live au Lion d’Or and Bossa Blue with rising star Florence K. Mr. Muhammad has performed classical pieces with The Metropolitan Orchestra and I Musici Of Montreal.
