Orford Music is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Orford Music Award. The event, held on August 16th, showcased four incredibly talented young musicians from across the globe; cellist Kei Otake, pianists Jessica Yuma and Sae Yoon Chon, and saxophonist Matthew Koester. South Korean pianist, Sae Yoon Chon was chosen as the grand prize winner for this fourth edition of the Orford Music Award. The public awarded its Public’s Choice Award to Sae Yoon Chon as well, making him the first, in the history of the competition, to win both first place and public’s choice.
« Sae Yoon is a musician who has all the qualities to pursue a career in this field. His sound is rich, mature, and he charmed both the jury and the public with his virtuoso performances», says Wonny Song, Orford Music’s Executive and Artistic Director.
